Life is not easy, My children. Man has made of it not what My Father meant it to be.
Ways that were meant to be straight paths have been made by man into ways devious and evil, filled with obstacles and stones of difficulty.
And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not;
I will lead them in paths that they have not known:
I will make darkness light before them
and crooked things straight. Isaiah 42:16
To Me each one of My children is an individual with varying characteristics and varying needs. To one and all the way to the highest must be a lonely road, as far as human help and understanding are concerned.
None other can feel the same needs and desires, or explain the inner self in the same way. That is why man needs Divine Companionship. The Companionship that alone can understand each heart and need.
Man has such strange ideas of the meaning of My invitation “Come unto Me.” Too often has it been interpreted as an urge to pay a duty owed to a Creator or a debt owed to a Savior.
The “Come unto Me” holds in it a wealth of meaning far surpassing even that. “Come unto Me” for the solution of every problem, for the calming of every fear, for all you need – physical, mental, spiritual.
Sick, come to Me for health. Homeless, ask Me for a home. Friendless, claim a friend. Hopeless, a refuge.
“Come unto Me” for everything.
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what
things you have need of, before ye ask him. Matthew 6:8
To glorify Me is to reflect, in praise, My character in your lives. To mount up with wings as eagles, higher and higher, to soar ever nearer to Me.
To praise Me is to sing, to let your hearts thrill. To glorify Me is to express exactly the same, but through the medium of your whole beings, your whole lives. When I say, “Rejoice, rejoice,” I am training you to express this in your whole natures.
That is the Music of Heaven, the glorifying Me through sanctified lives and devoted hearts of Love.
Jesus, hear us, and let our cry come unto Thee.
That voiceless cry, that comes from anguished hearts, is heard above all the music of Heaven.
It is not the arguments of theologians that solve the problems of a questioning heart, but the cry of that heart to Me, and the certainty that I have heard.
Hear the right, O Lord, attend unto my cry, give ear unto
my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips. Psalm 17:1
Though I was a Son yet learnt I obedience.
This was to teach My followers that allegiance to Me meant no immunity from discipline.
The house of your spirit is fashioned brick by brick — Love, Obedience, Truth. There is a plan, and each action of yours is a brick in its building.
Think. A misguided act, a neglected duty, or a failure to carry out My wishes would mean not only a missing brick but a faulty edifice.
How many an otherwise noble character is spoilt thus. Build now for eternity.
Looking back you will see that every step was planned. Leave all to Me. Each stone in the mosaic fits into the perfect pattern, designed by the Master Artist.
It is all so wonderful!
But the colors are of Heaven’s hues, so that your eyes could not bear to gaze on the whole, until you are beyond the veil.
So, stone by stone, you see, and trust the pattern to the Designer.
When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and
when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. Proverbs 4:12
Down into Egypt, back into Galilee. These journeys were gladly undertaken. They meant no family upheaval, for was not the desire of that Family but to fulfill Divine Intent?
Upheavals come only when man is set on some particular way of life, and is called to forgo that.
When the fixed desire is to do the Father’s Will, then there is no real change. The leaving of home, town, country is but as the putting off a garment that has served its useful purpose.
Change is only Spiritual progress when the life is lived with Me, the Changeless One.
Walk in My Way and trust Me. No evil can touch you. I am yours as truly as you are Mine. Rest in that truth.
Rest, that is, cease all struggle. Gain a calm, strong confidence in that certainty. Do not only rest in Me when the world’s struggles prove too much and too many for you to bear or face alone. Rest in Me when you need perfect understanding, when you need the consciousness of tender, loving friendship and intercourse.
The world, my poor world, flies to Me when its difficulties are too great to be surmounted any other way, forgetting, or never realizing, that if, with the same eagerness, those hearts sought Me merely for companionship and loving intercourse, many of the difficulties would not arise.
The circumstances, the life, the character would be so altered – so purified, that those same difficulties would not exist.
Seek Me early, that is the way to find Me. Early, before I get crowded out by life’s troubles, and difficulties and pleasures.
But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely,
and shall be quiet from fear of evil. Proverbs 1:33
Do not let doubt or fear assail or depress you because of this time of anguish and failure-sense through which you have passed. No, this had to be.
Useful work lies ahead of you. Before the onset of so great a task My servant has usually to walk through the Valley of Humiliation, or in the wilderness.
If I, your Lord, before I began My Mission, had to have My forty days of temptation, how could you expect to go all unprepared to your great task?
You must taste anew the shame of unworthiness, of failure, and of nothingness before you go forth with Me conquering and to conquer.
